Engine
For 2022, the Corvette Stingray LT2 6.2L V-8 engine has been upgraded with a direct injection fuel system, improved engine calibration, and an extended range of active fuel management. It’s still rated at 490 horsepower or 495 horsepower with an available exhaust system. Driven through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, the Z51-equipped model can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds.
Pushing a quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds, the engine placement offers rear weight bias where it matters most. To improve downforce, the windshield is positioned over the front wheels for more power and domination out in these streets.
The Corvette Stingray is offered in a coupe and convertible models in 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT trims, with the Z51 performance package available on all trims. Magnetic Ride Control is available with or without the Z51 performance package. Coupes include a removable roof panel that is stored in the rear trunk, while convertibles include a power hardtop.
A new low-profile rear spoiler and Z51 design front splitter will be offered on non-Z51 models.
This car has some amazing technologies that you can only find in other super-models, for example, the new generation magnetic-ride shock absorbers, which is amazing technology that is reading the road conditions every 10 to 15 milliseconds. The shock is filled with a metal-bearing fluid which can be made stiff or soft depending on conditions, in a matter of milliseconds.
