Who doesn’t like to drive a Mercedes Benz sedan fully loaded with technology and classic elegance on the inside and outside. The minute I start to test drive the E-Class I feel excited to discover all the new technology and driving precision. The E-450 is fun to drive and it seems to upgrade your social status the minute you enter the cabin.

The elegant mid-range luxury Mercedes-Benz E-Class Sedan has been one of the favorite German elegant sedans for more than seventy-five years.

For several generations, the E-Class has been a good upgrade from the entry-level luxury sedan C-Class, and still has a low price when we compare it to the top-of-the-line luxury S-Class.

The new 2024 sedan model E 450 is now more powerful with an upgraded engine designed for all terrain. On the inside, the E-Class keeps the classic elegance that we know from Mercedes Benz, but it has been redesigned with the latest modern technology and digital tools.

The new generation E 450 merges tradition, power for all roads, and modern technology, featuring luxury details everywhere.

E-Class more digital than ever

One of my favorite features of the new Mercedes-Benz E 450 is the new Superscreen option that adds a third display for the front passenger. This screen is large and looks fantastic. The front passenger can enjoy his own private screen without distracting the driver.

The new E-Class sedan E 450 includes the new third-generation MBUX, Mercedes-Benz User Experience infotainment system that provides an immersive entertainment experience, including the optional MBUX Superscreen.

Mercedes Benz calls their new E-Class a bridge between tradition and digitalization, as this elegant sedan is one of the few cars from the famous German car manufacturer that keeps its classic look but is fully loaded with new technology.

The tech tools included with the E 450 make it smart, immersive, and interactive, fully integrated with smartphones.

New entertainment integration experience with music, games, and streaming, a new dimension of personalization and interaction.

The new electronic architecture includes fast data transfer speeds with 5G technology and several new smart functionss

This new technology is more software-driven and less hardware-driven enabling easy updates and enhancements in the future.

Phone charging, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto are all wireless so you can connect your devices to your Mercedes Benz without using a cable.

The new computing functions take place in a single processor, instead of the previously separate domains. The new advanced MBUX infotainment system shares a new powerful central onboard computer that improves performance with faster data streams.

Ambient lighting

Driving the new 2024 E-Class you can experience music with three senses.

With the new Active Ambient Lighting including Sound Visualization, music and sound can be heard with Dolby Atmos technology if desired, and felt with sound resonating transducers in the standard Burmester 4D surround sound system, but also can be seen through this ambient lighting.

Visualization takes place on the light strip of the optional Active Ambient Lighting. For the first time, this applies throughout the E-Class. For example, fast sequences of beats can cause rapid light changes, while flowing rhythms can create softly merging lighting moods.

The front passenger gets a better visual experience, due to the switchable display, the front passenger can watch dynamic content, such as streaming video on the optional right screen in front of the front passenger.

While driving with my teen daughter she enjoyed the colorful graphics on the right front display that moved with the music beat.

The advanced camera-based visual shield function reduces its brightness and thus reduces the risk of distraction for the driver.

The entertainment program in the E-Class is more interactive than ever.

The software experts at Mercedes-Benz developed a new compatibility layer that allows the installation of third-party apps.

The following apps are available on the central display at the launch of the E-Class: TikTok, the game Angry Birds, the collaboration app Webex, the video conferencing app Zoom, and the web browser Vivaldi.

Another new digital feature is a selfie and video camera, part of the optional MBUX Superscreen on top of the dashboard. When the vehicle is not moving, the driver can participate in online video conferences via Webex or Zoom, and take photos and videos using the sedan’s camera.

MBUX “Just Talk” function can now activate the intelligent voice control without the keyword “Hey Mercedes.” When the function is activated, a red microphone symbol appears in the display to indicate that the vehicle is ready to receive commands.

Trims and pricing

Buying an E-450 is easy as there are only two trims to select, E-450 Premium base trim or the more premium E-450 Pinnacle trim, and a few optional packages.

The current base starting price of $68K for the 2024 car year model could be lower when we compare it to other luxury sedans, but Mercedes Benz continues at the top-of-the-line of European car manufacturers.

Modernized exterior design

The new E 450 sedan is ready for all roads and the exterior reflects its power. To enhance the outside look a few choices of wheel styles with sizes from 18″ to 21″, and a variety of exterior color options.

The new exterior features classic sedan proportions with a short front overhang and a long hood, adorned with modern style details like a striking black panel connecting the radiator grille to the headlamps.

The exterior lighting includes High-performance LED headlamps standard, and you can add the smart optional DIGITAL LIGHT headlamps that constantly adapt the illumination of the road to the weather, lighting conditions, road, and traffic.

The rear of the new E 450 includes two-section LED taillights with a new contour and unique star design.

The optional illuminated grille looks great, all around the radiator grille lights up as a perimeter light all around the front radiator.

On board this new sedan you can enjoy the exterior environment through the standard large Panorama power-roof.

Mercedes-Benz Digital Vehicle Key

The new Mercedes-Benz Digital Vehicle Key is standard on the new E 450 and enables drivers to unlock, lock, and start the vehicle with a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch.

The smart Key sharing function is very convenient as the main user of the Mercedes me Connect account can assign different access levels for each device for different users.

The interior of the new E-Class includes elegant upholstery hand-fitted to the sumptuously supportive seats. Along with a palette of colors and two sew patterns, trim options include natural-grain woods, deep piano black, or a modern woven metallic fabric that looks fantastic and very elegant.

Performance sedan for all terrain

The performance of the E 450 is enhanced by the Standard 4MATIC all-wheel drive and AGILITY CONTROL suspension with selective damping. This combination delivers outstanding ride comfort and agile handling.

Smooth Transmission

The 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission of the new 2024 E-450 is very smooth and fast, with nine speeds, an electronic column selector, and shift paddles for manual speed changing.

Optional AIRMATIC Package

The optional AIRMATIC package includes 4.5 Degree Rear Axle Steering, which helps produce better handling stability and maneuverability.

This powerful package also includes AIRMATIC suspension with air springs and adaptive ADS+ dampers controlled automatically for each wheel and separately during rebound and compression.
